I’ve been going through my inbox today and I’ve got all these great emails from PR’s with the hottest trends for Fall 2014. These are my top picks.
Lacc Beauty has launched some hot new colours from it’s La Couleur Couture nail polish. A vegan, cruetly-free and toxic-free nail polish has my name written all over it. I love the red, gun metal gray and gold polishes. The black is also a hot staple for fall/winter season and I can’t wait to get my hands on these and get a manicure!

These three are my favourite of the Fall watch trends. I need the blue Fossil one.
Fossil – love the rose gold face
These boots from Pajar Canada are gorgeous! And they’re called Harli boots 🙂
Harli Boots from Pajar Canada $225
I have been in love with Nella Bella’s Vegan Handbags since I first saw Raymi & Casie with their gorgeous bags. The great news is that this Canadian brand is now in 250 Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques across the country! Congrats to Tarek & Nella Bella for this awesome acomplishment! The London bag will be mine one day. I found out that the bag has some great new clear mascara, you should check out the Sample Himes Review Of Clear Mascara.
I covet this bag – the Nella Bella London bag in Red $125
And last, but not least, this jewellrey by Magnolia is gorgeous. I’m in love with the Silver Flower-ish Chain with the green stone and I love how dainty the leaf necklace and rose bracelet are.
My hair is long and fine and I have a lot of it, so I spend a great amount of time brushing and detangling during the day. I hate the feeling of brushing out knots and tangles, it just rips your hair out and causes split ends. My salon used the Tangle Teezer on me a couple of times and it seemed to work really well, so when the opportunity came to try it out for myself, I jumped on it!
I was sent a Tangle Teezer Compact Styler in Rock Star Black (it’s glossy black IRL) and it’s the perfect size and shape to fit in my hand. It comes with a click-on, click-off cover so your bristles don’t break. The bristles are a fine, soft plastic and they are different sizes so it detangles the knots delicately, instead of ripping through them.
I’ve been using it for the past few weeks on both dry and wet out of the shower and it works really well. The soft bristles don’t hurt your head and they don’t get stuck in tangles, but glide through and over them. I’m pretty hard on my hair when I brush it, so this has been a bit of a relief to my head 🙂 I’ve been using it as my daily brush & comb and I’m going to continue using it as my go to. It also works pretty well for putting your hair up into a ponytail.
It’s definitely a cool little tool and you can get the TangleTeezer Compact Styler in Canada at Sephora for $25 CND.
On May 1st I was invited to celebrate spring with a unique event, tasting the Wines of Rhone Valley and trying the hottest spring beauty trends from the Green Beauty Spa team. It was really neat because they paired the personality of each wine with the hottest spring nail & lip trend.
Angela Aiello, founder of the iYellow Wine Club walked us through a delicious wine tasting of 7 Rhone Valley blends. The Rhone Valley in France is a dynamic region which is 80% red wines and 20% white wines – which is great for me because I LOVE my red 🙂
After our tasting, we had the chance to choose our favourite wine and get our lips and nails done by Donna Bishop and her Green Beauty team. The nail polish is by Cheeky Monkey – a Canadian made line of cosmetics that are non-toxic and 5 free, containing no formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor or parabens. The lipstick was from Ilia – a Canadian prestige line of natural and organic beauty products made with up to 85% certified organic ingredients.
It was so nice to have an early evening of wine and pampering. I loved that both of the cosmetic brands that were paired with the wines were Canadian brands that are making healthier and less chemical cosmetics.
I have been a daily user of Pure+simple skincare since I first had the pleasure of meeting Kristen Ma back in 2009 – and as I was looking for my post from my day at her spa I’ve noticed that it is one of the lost/deleted posts from my old KapOneTwo blog 🙁
So I’ll be re-writing that post and getting it up for you again ASAP but the gist of it was: I LOVE PURE + SIMPLE!! The company and line was founded by Kristen Ma & her mother, Jean. If you haven’t been to one of their locations or tried out their organic, holistic skincare line, well this weekend you can for 50% off!
