What a whirlwind of a week! I’ve posted a ton of new jobs, for all of you that may be looking and IQ PARTNERS has a whole whack of new opportunities across industries HERE.
This weekend Jason, Mom & I are going to look at our first wedding locationand I am pretty excited. From the photos it looks like a pretty great option, so please keep your fingers crossed! I’ve been in full wedding mode, which is actually pretty fun but VERY stressful as well. I am mostly excited to have both of our families in the same place at the same time!
Can you believe it’s almost the END of April! It seems like this year is flying by and I can’t wait for the warm Summer weather to get here. I want to spend as much time as possible outside this year. I want to go to cottages and swim in lakes and drive a boat again! I haven’t driven a boat since we lived in Florida and that was in 2011!
Gala wrote a really good post called 20 Things to Write About When You’re Totally Stuck. I’ve been blogging for quite a while now. My first blog was started in 2004 on Blogger (which I sadly lost :() and then I moved to kaponetwo.com and now we’re here. I’ve had days/weeks/months where I’ve got so much to say that I blog too much and times when my creative spark just isn’t there. Helpful advice on things to share.
I am lazy and don’t get as much exercise as I should and could. With a wedding coming up, of course I want to get in shape, but the chips & dip are just too yummy. Thanks to This Beautiful Day I’ve got 7 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Exercise.
Break The Cycle is beautiful. I love Pink & Dallas Green together. you + me
This has been a great week. Probably one of the best weeks of my life so far. Tomorrow we actually have to sit down and start planning a wedding, which is such a foreign concept to me and I have no idea where to start! I’ve got to give you guys fair warning that I will be posting about wedding stuff over the next few months. I will make sure for every wedding-ish post that I’ll do a regular one but this event has really inspired me to write! Woo hoo!
Sooo, in other news, I’ve been MIA on the Show & Tell posts since February (sorry!) so here is an extra long one to get you through the rest of the day.
This weekend the Evergreen Brickworks is having and Earth Day Weekend! It’s a full weekend of events with something for everyone! “Spring into nature and celebrate Earth Day® at Evergreen Brick Works! Explore the spring sights, sounds and wildlife at Evergreen Brick Works and Toronto’s Don Valley.”
You might remember a few weeks ago the “Dicks By Mail” post going viral. Well I jumped on the bandwagon and sent a “Bag of Dicks” to Jason for his birthday. Coincidentally we got engaged a week later…lol!
Spring is finally here and I am in clean, declutter and get rid of mode. Then I saw the Poppin Office Collection on The Domestic Peach and I am now in time to reorganize, redo and update my home office! I LOVE office supplies and these bright colours will bring a pop of colour and happiness to my workspace.
Science says lasting relationships come down to two basic traits – and they are so simple it’s amazing that more people don’t realize it. The secret to a healthy, happy and lasting relationship is… Read the whole article here.
This is big news in Toronto and I actually can’t wait to see how it turns out. The Honest Ed’s redevelopment plans include several surprises: 1,000 rental apartments, many of them family-sized, and no condominiums for sale; a permanent public market; and retail space largely divided into small units that mimic the scale of existing storefronts on Bloor Street.
Back in March I attended the Bessie’s Awards and you may have seen me live tweeting how the Always “Like A Girl” campaign won Best of Show. This campaign has started a global movement of girls show they things they do “Like A Girl”. It’s great. Watch it. Share it. And keep doing your thing Like A Girl.
I’ve been listening to Florence + The Machine a lot lately and this morning saw the announcement that she was headlining the very first “Bestival Toronto” on Toronto Island June 12-13. That should be a great show and I hope we get to go.
This weekend was a pretty great one. Jason and I had a quiet but fun Friday night at home and then Saturday I had a baby shower for my cousin and then ended up at the Ceili Cottage for Steph’s birthday. It was a really fun time, I saw a bunch of girls that I hadn’t seen in years. We were in the Yurt, which was a pretty interesting and funny party room.
I am so ready for Spring to get here and hopefully this month starts to ease on the deep freeze we’ve been experiencing. It’s hard to get motivated to do anything in the cold. I have completely abandoned my Yoga practice and any thoughts of going outside if I don’t absolutely have to. It’s going to be a pretty exciting month I think. There is something brewing in the air and I feel a big change coming on.
In other Toronto news, the police found the people who dug the “Mystery Tunnel” and determined that they just wanted to dig a tunnel and had no ill intent, so case is closed. Glad the hysteria level didn’t increase to Fox News proportions.
Tonight I’m going to an event at the Ripley’s Aquarium with some girls from work and I’m pretty excited about it. I hope we get to wander around a bit and see all the marine life!
Happy Friday Lovelies! Today has started off pretty great. Woke up before my alarm feeling like I had a great sleep, got a ride in to work from a super hot man (Pony) and made a lunch date for next Friday to see one of my favourite girls.
It’s been another whirlwind of a week and there are no signs of slowing down. I’ve been laying low in the evenings and we’ve almost watched all of Season 5 of Sons of Anarchy this week. Yes I’m late to the party, but man it’s such a great show. I am literally on the edge of my seat and having anxiety for most of every episode and I’m going to be sad when it’s all said and done.
This weekend will be a busy one as well. I’ve got a baby shower, maybe a wedding dress fitting with one of my ladies, fixing the stairs in our new place and maybe even getting carpet! So grown up, I know. haha
We Won The Internets! For real! Yesterday, the FCC voted on a monumental decision to approve strong net neutrality rules. Net Neutrality is “the principle that Internet service providers and governments should treat all data on the Internet equally, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication.” – Wikipedia
A Mermaid School is coming to Toronto. AquaSirene opened in Montreal and due to the fast growth they will be in Toronto by the end of the sumer! Seriously, you can learn to swim like Ariel and wear a beautiful sparkly fin. We used to pretend to be mermaids all the time when we were swimming and I am absolutely going to sign up. I wonder if it’s hard?
If you have $4000 you can have a brand new pair of underwear every day for a year. Yes, that’s right, for only 4K you can get 365 pairs of underwear from MeUndies. They will customize this pack so you can get mens or womens styles. But seriously, where the heck would you keep this many pairs of underwear?
Daniel at my office made me feel old because he didn’t know who Warren G was. If you don’t know who he is, then please Google him. Warren G & Kenny G performing “Regulate” is what brought this conversation on.
Last night we had a Trivia Night party at work. It was super fun and I was on the winning team!
It’s been a pretty fun and busy week. Finn has had a couple of playdates with Jilly the Puppy and Atlas the Golden Retriever. I got my hair done by Matthew (it’s Birthday Blonde, my favourite colour) and tonight we’ve got a dinner date.

That’s all I’ve got. Here’s a Show & Tell!
There is a company called Cuddle Clones that makes a plush toy of your pet. I lost my Harley at the end of the year and I think I’d like one of him. Is it creepy or nice?
