Glee, The Hills & HTV

I didn’t end up going to MTV last night because I can’t seem to shake this pesky sickness.  I’ve had no voice for the past two days and I really hope I’m better before Chad comes home on Tuesday night!  They’re in town for a show at the Opera House and I can’t wait to see him!  You should come out to the show, they’re opening for Lacuna Coil, and you can get tickets at Ticketmaster

I stayed in and watched Glee – I’m a total Gleek and I love the show.  Neil Patrick Harris & Matthew Morrison sang Dream On last night, one of my all-time favourite songs and it gave me goosebumps.  I love how talented everyone is on the show and I would love to see the cast perform live.

Then I settled in to watch the trainwreck that is The Hills.  I really wanted to go hang out with the blog babes last night but luckily I’ve got Twitter so it was almost like being there.  That show and everyone on it is crazy.  I can’t believe it’s still on the air and I can’t believe that the Spencer/Heidi situation is so dramatic and crazy.  Heidi’s sister, Holly Montag was on the MTV Aftershow to talk about what was happening with her family and she was drunk when she came on stage.  I was pretty surprised at how drunk she was and was embarrassed for her.  It made me really sad to hear how she and her sister are estranged.  I can’t even imagine that happening with my sister.  Thank god we’re not on a reality show.

Kristin Cavalleri on the Aftershow

Ok, I’m a little late in posting this but since I’ll be heading out to MTV tonight to see Miss Holly Montag I’ve got to get my Kristin Cavalleri post done.

The lovely Casie invited some super awesome blog babes to MTV to watch the Season Premiere of The Hills and The Aftershow with see Kristin Cavalleri.  We get to sit in the VIP Blogger area aka the Balcony and I feel super cool up there :)

The Hills was full of the usual drama… Frankenheidi’s debut to her mother (very sad to watch) and her family trying to understand and deal with their new “plastic” daughter.  It was actually pretty heartbreaking to see just how sad Heidi is. She just looks like a lost little girl and her family seems very worried, as they should be. Spencer seems even crazier than before and the whole crystals thing is bizarre. Audrina, Stephanie, Lo & Kristin went to Miami to bond – and then got in Kristin’s face about her alleged drug abuse…. oh to be young in LA….

We stuck around for The Aftershow and the warm up guy was pretty entertaining.  Can’t remember his name, but he was a funny guy.  Jessi had on  super fab dress that I can’t remember the designer of and Dan looked cute as always.  They were saying how nice and sweet Kristin is in person, but I had some preconceived notions about her… ok, I actually disliked her a lot and thought she was a bitch.  Then she came onstage and really did seem like a sweet girl.  Her valley girl voice is kind of annoying, but she was very charming and won me over.  She denied the drug allegations, talked a bit about Heidi’s new “look” and posed for photos during commercial breaks.

I had a super fun time and afterwards we headed over to Jack Astors for food and drinks.

Looking forward to seeing the girls tonight and I can’t wait to hear what Holly has to say about her sister, especially in lieu of the newest reports that Spencer has Heidi on lockdown and called the police on her mom.

Tune in tonight!

MTV FORA, Peach Beserk & Blog Babes

I got my hair fixed first thing on Monday and it’s back to pink for me.  Thank you so much to Matt at Brennen Demelo Salon for coming in early on a Monday morning, fixing my colour and styling my hair for the MTV event.  Then it was off to see my lady Krista Mae, makeup artist extraordinaire, to get my makeup done.  I felt like such a princess having people do my hair & makeup and put me in a pretty dress to wear.  I’m always the business person in the background, holding on to everyone’s stuff and it was such a nice change to be the one in the spotlight, so to speak.

My sister Kristin was able to make it out, which was so great.  I love going places with her and she looked hot in a blue suede dress.  My cupcake dress is by Peach Berserk.

The first part of our fun day was to watch the interview with Kelly Cutrone of People’s Revolution.  Some of you may know her from her work on The Hills & The City.  She’s a fashion PR powerhouse and now a TV star and author.  I really wanted to meet Kelly in person and get a chance to talk to her, but she was on her promo tour for her book “If You Have To Cry, Go Outside” so she was whisked away to her next interview.  Kelly is one of my business idols and I can’t wait to read her book and hopefully have the chance to meet her in person one day.

After the interview the media/VIP’s went up to the Masonic Hall for a sneak preview of MTV’s new online magazine FORACasie is the features editor of the magazine and she invited a whole bunch of bloggers and media including the Toronto Blog Girls.  It was so great to see all the girls out and dressed so pretty and I got to meet a few more Tweeps/Bloggers IRL.

The magazine will be live in April and the first issue is a Prom theme featuring dresses by Peach Berserk.  Casie & Kingi worked together to dress the Toronto Blog Girls for the event, hence the pretty dresses.  There were a few girls that were saying some nasty things about us dressing up on their blogs & twitter feeds.  Who knew that wearing pretty prom dresses would cause girls to act like we’re in high school?  I was pretty surprised that anyone invited to an event as media would be negative about us wearing dresses featured in the magazinebut I’ll chalk it up to jealousy because we all looked gorgeous.

They had a photo wall up for us to take “Prom Photos” and we all took advantage and hammed it up for the cameras.

Dan & Jessi introduced the magazine and showed outtakes of their “celebrity photo shoot”.  These two are a great pair and they work together really well.

My sister and I had the chance to chat with Jessi and she’s such a sweetheart.  We were talking about her most interesting interview and she floored us when she said Tom Cruise!  Apparently he is really nice and down to earth in person.  Who knew?

After the preview we went down to Hemingways for some drinks and food.  It was such a great day and thank you to Casie & MTV for starting off my week with such a fun day.

Cupcakes and Mace

Today is the launch of MTV’s online magazine FORA.  I’ve been invited to the launch along with some of my favourite blog girls.  Kelly Cutrone is also going to be at the event.  She is in town to promote her book “If You Have to Cry, Go Outside”.  I’m going to do my best to meet her and hopefully get a chance to chat.  She is one of my business idols and I can’t wait to read her book.

I’ve got a pretty dress all ready to go and I’m off shortly to get my hair colour fixed.  My amazing stylist Matt and I decided to try another brand of pink hair dye and it is not what we were going for at all, so he’s coming in early to fix me up before the event today.

Excuse my hung face in the photo, this was the morning after HTV’s show at the Hideout.

I hope you are all having a good start to your week.
