Show and Tell: Dec 18/09

I am so excited for Christmas and I can’t believe it is 6 days away! Today is my last day of work before the holidays and I am really looking forward to a vacation from my business. It has been a great year and if you haven’t already noticed I am really looking forward to 2010.

I spent a lot of time doing research and wasting time on the internet this week. There were some really interesting stories that I came across and without further ado, here is your Show and Tell

  • Hail The Villain Making Animated Movie. This is something I’ve know about for a while and I’ve seen some rough sketches and animation, and it honestly blew my mind. I can’t wait until the rest of the world gets to see what they have created.
  • You may have noticed that I had a bit of a rant about calling people out who don’t follow good business practices. This article from Freelance Switch had some great advice to try and help me prevent this kind of problem in the future.
  • I’ve been reading the Super Party comic site for the past few months and yesterday had the pleasure of a late lunch meeting with the creator, Sean Ward. Check it out and stay tuned for the big things to come in 2010!
  • In 1911 Niagara Falls froze over. Is this a photoshopped photo? Or did it really happen?
  • Yesterday the Olympic Torch was run through Toronto. I was working and unable to go downtown to see it. BlogTO has a great post and photos of the historic event.
  • Facebook Credits Take Another Step Towards Becoming the Web’s Currency

I’m not sure if I’ll get another Show and Tell up next week because I’ll be back at my parent’s for Christmas. If I get my shopping, wrapping, baking and packing done early next week we’ll see what happens.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

Here is my Christmas Tree version 1. Chad’s mom bought us decorations our first year and it was very nice of her to do that.

After having it up for a week I really wanted to change up the decorations. So we went to Mom & Dad’s for dinner (where I found my paintings) and I took my box of ornaments. Mom has been giving us kids an ornament every year on Christmas Eve since we were born and I have always wanted to put them on my own tree.

This was my first one. I was supposed to be born on Dec 25, 1980 but I was exactly a week late, so they put a sticker over the 0. haha.

Kathryn and I did the switch and it was really fun to remember all the years past when the three of us kids would decorate. We would each get to put the angel on top every three years to be equal and Mom would play the Sesame Street Christmas record. Do you remember that? I remember listening to “The Count” sing all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth when I was about 7 and was missing my two front teeth. haha.

Here is my tree version 2.

I’ll have to get a better photo tonight when it’s dark.

I am so excited for Christmas!
