There has been some controversy this year regarding poppies and the colour of poppy you should wear.
To be honest, I think it is ridiculous. Today is a day to thank the soldiers who are currently risking their lives and those who have gone before them, to take back the freedom of those repressed and protect the freedom of those of us lucky enough to live in war-free zones.
Today is a day to remember the lives that have been lost, to pay our respect, to grieve and to reflect on the past, present and future.
Thank you to the brave men and women who have given me the freedom to thrive in a glorious country. Thank you for giving your lives for me, my friends and family. Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice so that I can continue to grow and live and dream.
Lest we forget.
