A year ago tonight I walked into The Cottage in FMB with my cousin Tanya. I was feeling very down in the dumps as most of you know until a man in a Captain America costume put his arm around me and told me I was the prettiest girl in the bar. Who knew I’d fall for a man in spandex
This is about 1am last Halloween – excuse my drunky face
I can’t believe it’s been a year since we met (again) (that’s a story for another time). I love you more and more everyday and I’m lucky to have you in my life. I can’t wait to see what the next year will bring.
Work has been kind of taking over my life lately, which I really don’t mind at all, but it’s definitely been a challenge to fit life in the mix. Last night was the launch party for Movember and it sounds like it was a great night. I ended up skipping the event to have dinner with my family and it was well worth it. I love having us all together
This weekend is my first Sambassador experience and I’m really looking forward to it. Tomorrow morning Jason and I are going to Inn on the Twenty for a wine tour, dinner, overnight in a Loft Suite and then a trip to the Spa for massages. I can’t wait!
UPDATE: In lieu of the death of the Libyan Leader, here’s an article from VICE about being on the front lines of the rebel uprising, written only 4 weeks ago

With the colder weather coming almost everyone has the sniffles or even a full on cold or flu. Here’s a great list called 10 Tips for Surviving Sick Days at Home
I was devastated to hear of the suicide of 15 yeard old Jamie Hubely’s suicide earlier this week and the National Post wrote an article about how educators need to get more involved and stop the bullying.
When Nature Clean asked me to be a part of their sampling program and try out their new Pure Nourishment shampoo & conditioner and Refresh soap I said yes right away. I’m a fan of their cleaning products and had no idea they made beauty products as well. Nature Clean is a Canadian, third generation, family run company that makes non-toxic alternatives to household products and that is my favourite kind of brand. I’ve been making a conscious effort lately to replace products with greener versions and I hate that there are so many different chemicals in beauty products. I also like to use Canadian made products as much as possible.
The shampoo & conditioner are both 98% natural ingredients and have no parabens, sulphates and phthalates and I really like them both. The shampoo doesn’t lather which I found hard to get used to at first, but it leaves your hair nice and clean feeling without a residue. The conditioner goes on smooth and it makes my hair feel soft and clean. I’ve had to use a deep conditioner a couple times because I kinda fried the ends of my hair by dying it twice in a week, but otherwise have used the Nature Clean exclusively. I haven’t had a chance to try the soap yet but it smells amazing. I’ll be reviewing all the products on my ChickAdvisor profile and will Tweet/FB when they’re up.
They also sent me a bunch of 60mL bottles of shampoo and conditioner to give away to family and friends and I’ve got 10 packs to give away to you guys. For this giveaway you have to live in Canada, sorry guys, but I can’t send stuff like this over the border. If you want one all you have to do is leave a comment on this post and tell me if you have ever tried a Nature Clean product before. There’s no wrong answer and the first 10 people to comment will win
Also, if you’d like to share your opinion on the products, you can send me a write up and I’ll post it on my blog
Sorry for the no Show & Tell this week but I’ve been ridiculously busy at work AND I actually ventured out of the house for fun! Finally getting back into the swing of things and you guys will be seeing a lot more of me in the coming weeks

I heard on the radio this morning that only 47.5% of the population eligible to vote in Ontario did so last night. It’s one of the lowest turnouts they’ve had in recent years and I am honestly shocked. I have to admit I almost skipped out on voting to go to an event last night, but in the end decided that I better put my money where my mouth was and get my butt to the polls.
That got me to thinking about why people didn’t vote and I think it has a lot to do with not really caring about politics in general. My view of most politicians is really not good. I think they are generally sleazy and it’s unbelievable how they fight and bully each other. I think that they can’t pay attention to making policies because they’re too busy saying bad things about each other. We really need someone strong, who will listen to the people, help improve our economy and protect our natural resources and environment. There also needs to be something done about helping people understand the platforms and policies that each party is running on. Canada needs to step up it’s Elections campaigns and get more people voting!!
It’s important to have a say and you should do it. OK enough of my rant on voting. Here’s some Show & Tell…
Happy Thanksgiving and cheers to the long weekend! Jason asked me the story behind Canadian Thanksgiving and I had to admit I wasn’t too sure. I know its to celebrate the harvest, but the only things that came to mind were Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims and the Addams Family movie where Pugsley & Wednesday destroy their camp. Here’s the official entry from Wikipedia
If you live in Ontario and are 18 + I hope you plan on voting today! Go to Elections Ontario to find locations and any other info. You can even vote if you don’t have a voters registration card by bringing these acceptable forms of ID and voting locations are open 9am-9pm, so there’s really no excuse.
After voting I’m gonna head down to Workpace One to check out Social Media Marketing 101. Casie & Sheldon are speaking and I’m interested to learn about Daryl D’Souza’s business. Workplace One is a shared office space for entrepreneurs, small businesses and professionals. I think it’s a great idea and I’m looking forward to seeing what their space looks like.
Because I’m all about change and growth right now as soon as I saw this personality quiz from the NYT on Casie‘s blog via Lauren I had to see what it said about me and share it with you:
You are culturally adventurous in all walks of life and love to explore different avenues of tastes and trends. Because your body is also important to you, you look for flavors that are unusual but still healthy and delicious, and you are constantly on the lookout for the next food trend. You are an emotional spirit and you make really strong connections. Good friends and lots of laughs are the recipe for really happy days. And nights!
You’re sophisticated and inquisitive with a real passion for art and culture. You pride yourself on being an early adopter of the latest music and films and always like to have a good book on the go. Your ability to bring together very diverse and even dissenting opinions is rooted in your appreciation for all points of view. You believe in immersing yourself in interesting experiences that make you look at people, places and opportunities from new angles. Being sensitive and creative you want to feel connected to the world around you and actively seek out opportunities to explore it. It’s all about broadening your horizons and living life to the full. Anything else would not fulfill your curious nature. You’ll love the list of The Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made, the Critics’ Picks and Arts Beat.
I think it sounds perfect.
Been a really busy week at work and it’s been interesting being in the office by myself. I can’t believe this weekend is Thanksgiving. I’m really looking forward to a long weekend

This week I got confirmation of my 1st experience booked, Jason and I get to go away to Inn on the Twenty, a bed and breakfast on the Niagara Peninsula.
